sleep at dusk

about

This was originally written and recorded as an improvised session using the software gleetchlab. Version 1 I think. Possible 2.0 at this point. It is from 2006. I wrote it when I returned to CT after graduating from college in Maine (for the first time). I had started trying to make music in earnest, getting over some of my fears. It was originally recorded as a part of a larger collection I was calling "Vulpine" but that never saw the light of day. I had no way to distribute it. And I'm thankful for that because, frankly, it was not good. One other track from Vulpine is on the album RESET: a chronology here on bandcamp.

I was living with my mother who was fairly fresh off of a divorce from my father. Everyone in my life was depressed at that point and I worked a job I hated. My mom and I got drunk one night and were both just so done with living we went to sleep at around 5:30 pm, which was dusk in the autumn. I felt bad for her, and for us. I hate that I documented that with this.
