Your silence has been like rust over the tired machine of my heart. I don't know why I let myself fall apart this way. I can't keep up with the little things - clothes might stay unclean. And you just keep breaking the brittle things. They were bound to be dust anyway. How can I keep the stupid gaping cave of my mouth shut and keep you from hearing the echoes of what I say to myself? I don't blame you for trying to forget me and cringing when you can't. Discarded like a misshapen peach, you shouldn't have to watch my flesh rot off.

about

This is the second single from the upcoming inkmink album, "No." The single, "Brittle Things," is paired with a song that was, for a long time, going to be on the final version of the album, "No." It's called "Ankle" and is no longer going to be on the final album. So it's here.
